Bye bye camping Monte Cabo. Op elke camping krijgen we leuke reacties op onze daktent. Daktenten zijn hier nog niet vaak te zien. Vandaag op weg richting Portugal. We hebben woensdag t/m zaterdag een kamer gereserveerd in Porto, dus nog 1 overnachting zoeken in Spanje.
Vandaag was de eerste stop al na een half uurtje voor een bakje koffie. We hadden geen zin om eerst zelf nog koffie te zetten bij de tent. Worden we lui??
Onze tweede stop was in Baiones. In 1493 legde de karveel (boot) la Pinta, één van de drie schepen van Columbus, in Baiona aan en bracht het nieuws van de ontdekking van Amerika. In de haven ligt nu een replica.
We zijn rond het 16e eeuwse Castillo Monte Real gewandeld met steeds prachtige uitzichten o.a. op de eilandjes van Cies. Ook nog een rondje gelopen door de oude stad.
Toen een hele mooie route langs de kust gereden tot A Guarda. Dit is een authentiek vissersdorp met weinig toerisme.
Het is het dorp wat bekend staat om zijn kreeften. Daarom hebben we hier natuurlijk een lunch genuttigd, rijst met kreeft en een glaasje Rosal (witte wijn uit deze streek) bij Os Remos. 1, 2 en 3 juli is het hier kreeftenfeest. Jammer, dan zitten we al in Porto.
Wat ook steeds opvalt in alle stadjes zijn de kunstwerken. Hier hebben de plaatselijke kunstenaars een grauwe kademuur en een aantal blokken die dienen als golfbrekers beschilderd.
Nadat we nog even rondgekuierd hebben, zijn we op zoek gegaan naar een camping, Santa Tecla is het geworden. De camping ligt midden in een beschermd natuurgebied, aan de monding van de Minho. Deze rivier vormt de grens tussen Spanje en Portugal en mondt uit in de Atlantische Oceaan.
We hadden weer heel veel plaatsen waar we uit konden kiezen. Er staat bijna geen kip(caravan)?. Wel veel plaatsen met vaste gasten (die er nu zelf niet zijn, wel hun caravans). Het sanitair is op alle campings tot nu toe heel schoon en ruim.
Nu wel lekker koffie gezet bij de tent met onze nieuwe thermoskan. Gisteren gekocht in O Grove want onze oude bleef raar smaken en rammelde. En na de koffie was het tijd voor een Ricardje met net gekochte ijsblokjes uit de supermarkt.
