Bij het wakker worden hoorden we een kerkklok slaan. 5x, hûh?? Het was toch 6 uur. Mis geteld zeker. Lekker verder slapen. Toen om 8 uur telden we toch echt 7x. Wat blijkt; het was de kerk aan de overkant van het water in Portugal en er is een uur tijdverschil. Uurtje winst vandaag.
Onderweg een paar prachtige kerkjes gezien. We houden toch echt wel van Portugal met al zijn azulejo’s (en zijn pasteis de nata??).
Om 13.30 waren we in Porto. Even eerst gezocht naar het appartement, dat viel nog niet mee, maar uiteindelijk gevonden. Ze hadden een gratis priveparkeerplaats voor ons geregeld. Maar helaas…….Max hoogte 2.05 meter en onze hoogte is 2.20. Bijna alle garages waren te laag. Eindelijk één gevonden, 44 euro voor 3 nachten en 3 meter hoog. En toch vlakbij het appartement.
Het appartement ziet er prachtig uit. Nadat we de auto in de parkeergarage gestald hadden, zijn we op de fiets naar het oude centrum gereden, 12 minuutjes en alleen maar dalen. Eitje! En natuurlijk eerst pasteis de nata geproefd. We lusten ze nog steeds.
Ineens zagen we een heel leuk restaurantje, A Balina. Hier heerlijk tapas gegeten en warempel ze hadden Ricard. Dat was lang geleden.
De terugweg stukjes gelopen want het was echt te steil.
